An 8.000-year-old Pearl was recently discovered in the Marawah island, near the Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital. The discovery took place during excavations in the Marawah island that revealed the earliest architecture ever discovered in the country.

The pearl was harvested around 5.800 and 5.600 b.C. according to archaeologists, who employed radiocarbon testing to date the pearl. This proves that pearls were traded in the region for millennia.

The pearl has been named the "Abu Dhabi Pearl" and it will be displayed at the Louvre Abu Dhabi exhibition "10.000 Years of Luxury".
